Guangxi · Beihai
Beihai is a coastal city in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on the Gulf of Tonkin and close to the border with Vietnam. It is known for its port, marine and seafood industries, tourism, and a growing base of manufacturing and processing activity, and it sits within the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone framework. For foreign founders, Beihai can be a lower-cost base than the first-tier cities, but registration still runs through China's national company law and the local market supervision authority. This page sets out what to decide, what to prepare, and where foreign-owned businesses most often get stuck.
